Ad D. Io: Davies, Milite, Iudicem Itinerariu Poem by John Ashmore

Ad D. Io: Davies, Milite, Iudicem Itinerariu

If Plato liv'd, and saw those Heaven-breath'd Lines
Where thou the Essence of the Soule confines,
Or merry Martiall read thy Epigrammes
Where sportingly these looser times thou blames;
Though both excell, yet (in their severall wayes)
They both, ore-come, would yeeld to thee the Praise.
