Addict In You Poem by Michael Murphy

Addict In You

you own your own..you sound alone..
no possessions to call your own..
the thoughts you share that life's unfair..
it rains everyday.. and nobody cares...
except for you and that's in slow decline
repetitive failure has stained your mind..
imaginary line between lies and truth..
is as transparent as the shadows of the addict in you....

the addict in you
the addict in you
the addict in you
the addict in you

your on your knees.. begin please..
god won't you take this f**king disease..
you love yourself through something else...
drain it til its dry..you throw it on the shelf..
wouldn't think that i..
could become so blind but then i woke up.. when i closed my eyes...
read between the lines.. you'll know what to do..
such a sad sadistic chapter of the addict in you

addict in you
the addict in you
the addict in you
the addict in you

see myself through broken glass..
it hurts to touch..i bleed so fast..
i numb the pain but it will not last...

i 'm so insane it makes me laugh,
and cry and scream and all of that..
are you still there? you never were...

your life is filled with lies.. days just pass you by
.. gettin high to live.. living to get high..
you have sold your soul for one more tainted rush..
but one is one too many and a thousands not enough..
i guess you'll never know..how not to be alone..
it is getting late..i have better go..
mirror on the wall what am i do? ..
dying for another is the addict in you..

addict in you
the addict in you
the addict in you
the addict in you
