After All

The day is winding down
my country fields in sight
but you weren't today
and that weighs heavy on my mind

hope was my inspiration
for songs I sang this morn
your face the vision before me
danced like you were my partner

but my woman years remind me
what the foolish girl can't see
I've no right to this part too
after all you've given me

Poem of the Day

poet Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
