After The Storm Poem by Barry Middleton

After The Storm

Rating: 5.0

after the storm there is a hush
the world has fallen fast asleep
and all that I can see is peace

and I could stay within this place
I hear the muted sound of a guitar
before me is a goblet of red wine

I could sleep with the resting trees
silently waiting to be born again
as stillness lingers after the storm

I could lie beneath star filled skies
beneath the cool black waters
beyond these storms and dreams

I could spend eternity in this place
so do not weep for still I speak
I will have everything I need

after the storm there is a hush
the world as it was meant to be
wakes to greet the next moment

The hush is heard after storm. The world has fallen fast asleep. Still peace is very well seen. Silence is seen through resting trees. Lying beneath sky filled with stars amazes mind. Next new moment after the storm awakens to greet. Excellent imagery is drawn in this beautiful poem of life and death is metaphorically and humorously presented...10
