Afterlife Poem by Selina Gurgacz

Afterlife

Rating: 5.0

After life comes death.
After death there maybe an after life.
What do you really think?
Do you believe in after life?

What will you become in the after life?
A newborn baby?
A bird?
A whale?
An ant?
A slug?
Or a beautiful butterfly?

It doesn’t really matter what you become.
You should just be grateful that you are something.

Is there really an after life?

You have chosen a huge subject for this poem - one which has puzzled and absorbed philosophers and students of theology (plus everyone else too) for thousands of years. And no one really knows, do they. I guess the mystery is what makes life so exciting, and scary too. Your have an easy poetic style with a good feel for language. The shape of your poem works a treat, especially the comfortable cadence at the end. I look forward to reading more of your work. love, Allie xxxx
