Aging Gracefully

If age is a state of mind-
my mind
is in a terrible state

Its so rare to find someone saying what so many people has always wanted to say but somehow couldnt manage it. Avoidance is one possible explanation and fear of ageing of course compounds the expression. But Ms. Barnathan has excelled and in purely artistic forms have given the perfect account of a natural process with blend of personality to the form.

You could get in a real state over it couldn't you! Try going to relaxation classes! Sincerely Ernestine Northover (Report) Reply

These lines are clever, Adrienne. Just remember that age is only a number (along with a few aches and pains!)

hey girl yo dissin yo? When two of the brightest poetesses (why does that word give me the creeps, as if Edith Sitwell all in black were creeping up on me?) on this site, of a certain uncertain age, deny their poetic calling, which is to grow old gracefully, gratefully, wisely, and poetically... you young things worry too much.
State of mind is age. Now that's creepy...but remediable. Trust me, I'm a journalist... (Report) Reply

Adrienne, this is delightful! You've captured exactly how I feel about aging.
