Akrasia. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

He knows that doing good
to others is Dharma(religion)
and afflicting injury on others
is Papa(sin) .
But no inclination
for the former and no refrain
from the latter.

He knows that he,
like all others, is the child
of the one and the same God,
inhabit the earth with others
and therefore equal.
But he has introduced inequality
in caste, colour, region, religion,
disrespected the actual.

He knows that involvement
in wars would invite
his own decimation,
to win heart of others,
love and altruism are
the best weapons.
But he is always in search
of weapons of mass destruction,
engaged in wars and hatred without
paying attention to own lives,
lives of all others
in the entire creation.

He knows that nature nurtures
the best,
his duty is to maintain
balance in nature.
But his greed and ego prevent
him, he pollutes and imbalances
nature without caring for the future.
Can you guess who is
responsible for such akratic action?
His brand is human.
