Albino Poem by Sandile mngadi.

Albino

Just because I have Albinism
Does not mean I am different from you
Just because my skin is more lighter than yours
Does not mean I come from a different planet then you
Just because I have light eyelashes
Does not mean I can`t see like you
I have the same blood like you
I feel pain the same way that you do
So don’t treat me different from you
I also wish to go in the same school as you
Be your friend, see nothing different from you
I wish you not to see me different to you
We are of a same kind ‪#‎Human‬#
Date me not because you have no one
But because you have a desire to build a home with me
Don’t date me because those that felt the warmth of our heart
Tell you we are one of a kind
Don’t date me for your sexual desire
But date me because you want me to be your queen
Don’t call me names
Call me by my real name Mary
See no wrong in me
But the human you and I
Protect me from does who use our bones
To create voodoo
To enrich themselves and kill others
Protect me as you sister and lover
Protect me from those that rape us
Because they enjoy the sexual pleasure that come with our kind
It is said Albinos have enjoyable punani
Protect me from those that wish to destroy me
I am human just like all humans
Cry when in pain
Cry when they tease me of my skin
Cry when they humiliate me in public by looking at me differently from everyone
I am human just like you
I am an Albino
Proud of my parent not to dump me in a bin to die
Just because I am an albino
