All Alone Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

All Alone

All alone

He who came day in and day out
He who came calm and with shout
He who came, brought food, kindly fed
He who came in closed and opened again
Came with a rope and first reined
Then he tied all four legs
Tight, then retied.

Of the calf.

He who threw crumbles from perch
He who sat, looked for research
He who spoke to himself as if
He had friends inside TIFF
Sat silent to observe

The crow.

First took out knife cut calf's neck
Took the gun, shot crow the second
Fell the calf, fell crow; both of them in blood.

Both away from home; and alone!
