All In My Head - Poem by Leon Reynolds

Everyday, a constant struggle
And I rise up to greet it
But you cannot win a losing battle
Oh how I long for relief.

The cloudy sky reflects my soul
And all seems lost and hopeless
There is no way to ease the pain
Oh how I long for relief.

The days become an endless blur
And darkness rules my heart
Although I must continue on
Oh how I long for relief.

Fun or happiness exists no more
In this dreary place
I'm like an old and empty shell
Oh how I long for relief.

No matter what support I receive
None seems a remedy
Others try to comfort me
Oh how I long for relief.

Sunny days, or thunderstorms
They're all the same to me
Is winter hot, or summer cold?
Oh how I long for relief.

Somedays it is worse than others
But naught is it enjoyable
Alzheimer's is not kind nor nice
Oh how I long for relief.
