We fear and fail to understand
What makes a child’s eye gleam?
We fail to see in Jesus’ hand
Our hopes and wildest dream
Amazing what He has to share
Like sunshine rain and snow
Our colour growth and length of hair
And where warm wind will blow
Man’s hates are there desires too
God’s wonders never cease
He has the things in life to do
That brings eternal peace
Each promise and deserving curse
The time of each our birth
The time of cribs of every hearse
And when to till the earth
It’s God who gives its God who takes
It’s God who turns the tide
The mountain springs and valley lakes
Each groom and blushing bride
The Lord has things no eye has seen
No ear has ever heard
Creating things that’s never been
Speaking His mighty word
It’s God who gave us Jesus Christ
It’s God who came to save
It’s God who hung there sacrificed
That we may see no grave
Why fear, when God has all these things
The loving care He’ll give
Descending swift on eagle’s wings
That we may have to live
