Always Kid Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Always Kid

Always Kid

Then when kids
-we copied, moms, daddies,
-girls played as women
-and the boys, grown men.

We had farms, animals
-they carried babies (dolls.)

We, the boys, brought earth
-made a mount, flattened
-to form our own gardens
-in steps, as had them
-on the sides of mountains.

Then dug in, arranged ponds,
-for water, somewhere where
-could flow in canals
-without a problem.

We, also, had our herds
-the baby lambs and goats
-none of which had yet horn!

We took leaves, branches
-fed them and trained them
-by touching their foreheads.

They grew too fast and
-would have horns in place
-to use them as had learned
-and we were playmates,
-that became first victims…

On the run, we, masters…
-learned from our mistakes…

When snowed in winter
-was shoveled just for way,
-the rest was for nature
-mud roofs were exception;
-the weight could break them.
Time has changed
-with me and my place
-as well as (hateful)age.

Here, now, when clouds
-become cold and frown,
-send snow to ground
-the trucks, large, small
-grow horns on their heads;
-to bulldoze, go around
-throwing the salty chemicals,
-liquid and dry…

And I think…
And I think…
And I think…

Now and then?
Now and then?
Now and then?

Feel sad and sorry for
-the kids and the nature.

Thoughtless and Powerless
-are haunted "children"
-by the phones and tablets
-and waste time on the games,
-following cool-fashions;
-out of touch with nature…

Feel sad and sorry for
-our mother "The nature"
-spoiled with salt, (excess)
-that flows in water
-of brooks and the lakes
-to end in oceans, whales
- (all condemned and murdered!)

See our death knocking door
-dreadful and shameless;
-feel the pain in my heart
-spread thick-silent-blanket!
