Alzheimer's Poem by Andrew Horsey

Alzheimer's

The path narrows in the winter
Through the ice and cold, a gate
Sometimes mountains seem to respond
Respond to the human too late

We all find time to wonder
Wonder through the lens of time
Time that complains
Yet we always seem to wonder
Wonder what is left that remains

Taken from us in the beginning
Taken in the nick of time
Taken all the way, with glory
We will never end the fight, it is fate

Most days are spent in wonder
Night is a pleasing day
Fire walks in place of evil
No one will ever understand this day

Yet the time is creeping closer
Closer to the stars that never shine
We all wish we could hold one
Till the end of time

It will be bright.
