Alzheimer's Poem by chize ryan ogunkah

Alzheimer's

It is gradually getting dark
In my mind's solitary ark

As I helplessly cross life's sunset
Into this gloomy labyrinth of yesteryears sonnets

The more I scour through this hazy maze
I am propelled into the 'I can't remember' life's phase

And trying to put the pieces together
I am bereft of making any sense further

Stuck in reverse on my old life's tales
I am a lonely pilgrim on a journey set sail

To a destination of a thousand miles
Without the luxury of knowing how time flies

And Hoping to find my savvy again
In this glorious destination to be attained
