Am Yet To Establish What Happened. Poem by ELVIS LIME

Am Yet To Establish What Happened.

Just from the blues you stared at me as if nothing ever happened in between us, even when I smiled you seemed not to be moved but in return you gave me that long look that guilted my conscience making me search deep inside me for may be I had wronged you
But why does this have to happen on the eve day to our wedding?

You hugged and laid on my broad chest and I held you back.
softly and slowing touching your beautiful blond hair that danced elegantly on your shoulders, moving my hand up and down, may be I could calm you down.
Your tears soaked my shirt but I didn't mind for I was doing it for the sake of our love
But why does this have to happen on the eve day to our wedding?

All of a sudden you squeezed and pulled yourself away from me, only for you to tell me you can't marry me and you walked away
Helter skelter you made my world! leaving me in a bundle of emotions, stand stilling it making me wish atleast it would have been one of those crazy dreams of mine but all in all you were gone and gone for real
But why does it have to happen on the eve day to our wedding?

I know it's the social class that really pushed you to the wall
But at least I could have heard it from you
Indeed you made the most dangerous decision ever;
walking away from your lover
But why did it have to happen on the eve day to our wedding?

I know am not rich but have always dreamt of richness, I know am not great but have always dreamt of greatness but can't you not just remember the mighty and exhilarating sensation of love that existed between us? that conquered all the opposing forces
Only for you to succumb to it
worst of all on the eve day to our wedding
