I do not know why I feel so much pain
Part of me want this insanity to end
Yet you also don't want to let go
Why the ambivalence, only the heavens know
I wish time and again that this love will die a natural death
No collateral damage and no casualties
No tears, no regrets and no theatrics
Just a distant memory that you are once a part of me.
I sense in this poem the weariness and barely-held-back tears that I think brought it into being. Its shortness conveys the sense that these feelings cannot be borne for too long at a time. Beautiful, thank you June.
Ambivalence- love and hate and everything else- there is duality in life. well expressed.
