An Asteroid Vs. The Earth Poem by Paul Warren

An Asteroid Vs. The Earth

Rating: 5.0

An asteroid collided with earth that was 10 kilometres wide
That wiped out the dinosaurs when they were fried
Putting stuff into the atmosphere for a two year winter
And this was what gave us mammals a kick starter sprinter

It would only need an asteroid 3 kilometres in diameter
That would have a similar effect today without fetter
We may only have a warning of two weeks time
To prepare if we were a target of an asteroid we'd find.

Thanks for drawing attention toward the possibility of an asteroid colliding with earth. A number of asteroids have been detected which might pose a threat to life on this planet. Thanks.

It's frightening but at least the odds are much less than a 27000 kilo hydrogen lithium A bomb falling to earth and giving the cockroaches a kickstart sprinter I'l take my chances with the asteroid. But it's a great poem to think about..
