An Hour With Nature Poem by Victoria Hughes

An Hour With Nature

Rating: 4.0

See all the flowers come into bloom
Breathe in deeply their sweet perfume,
Feel the soft grass between your toes
See the corn cobs growing in rows.

Feel the sunshine upon your back
As you head along the unbeaten track,
See the butterfly flutter and swoop
See the chickens roaming their coup.

Take the fresh air into your lungs
See the ewes feeding their young,
Find yourself in a golden field
Watch the farmer reaping his yield.

Sit your back against a tree
Or curl up in a hammock next to the sea,
Relax and feel the warmth that the sun provides
Watch the driftwood as it floats in on the tide.

Take a swim in the clear blue sea
Or go for a wander upon the quay,
Take an hour out of your busy life
Forget your worries, troubles and strife.

Relax, wander and roam about
Leave behind your fears and doubts,
It will do you good to get away
Even if it's only an hour a day.
