An Image Of You - What Love And Giving Can Be: An Abstract Portrayal In Words Of A Memory

Rating: 2.8

Images of you fill every sense
Overwhelming passions pulse
I feel your presence
Your touch; our bodies, entwined
Soulful and free
As one:
Each for the other, fulfilled and joyous

Like the wild wind calls its echoes home
You wake my spirit and I am
Wecome in your smile;
Your graceful beauty, knelt beside me
Your eyes bright as the summer sky and sea
I touch, then stroke your hair, so gentle,
As natural as the wind that blows the vale
The heather perfumed-breeze, the golden bracken
Glistening alive to the late Autumn sun
I feel your lips kiss mine.
Your infectious smile
Radiates my senses to return your loving smile:
A moment in bliss, holding the love you give, sweet darling!
You light heaven's pathway
Enwrapped in you, happy unknown before
Unfelt, untouched, so deep, so simple
Like the first petal unto the sun, opens
When the first blossom
Is touched gently, warmly, by the rays of morn
As your soft lips on mine...........

So happiness rose with peaceful balm
To feel and know that love is free.
Wherever your heart lays and your sparkling eyes see
My heart is there too
My call my spirit ever homeward to you
Your pain and loss is mine,
Our dreams and hopes, one:
To roll with you 'mid the bluebells aroma, forever elate
To soak in the earth's musky grandeur
To watch the sunset glittering gold on the wave
On the western sea, as the sky falls darkly into its bed of night;
We are Autumn's gold decay and Spring's regeneration
For years to come, however brief;
To live and love and know life once more
Are we the reunited halves of a greater one?
To feel suppressed compassion return
After the WInter of age
Youth within maturity:
To be in that place again
Where simple pleasures bide.

Then when our days are gone
O let me be buried there, forever at peace,
Mid the places I loved when my spirit was young,
Where your spirit soared and your eyes awoke.
With you in my arms eternally cast to the world and life.
That all would know You are the one I love
O let the spirit of Nature, that reigns in glory, come to us
A light, a happiness, to wash away the darkness and renew our soul as one.....................

How weird, I picked this out of all of your poems and just because I liked the title! Lo and behold I was the last person to comment on it.... it is a beautiful depiction of love and the feelings that are aroused when in love. Just gorgeous. HG: -) xx
