Ancestors Speak! Poem by Phinda Mkhonta

Ancestors Speak!

Rating: 5.0

Ancestors speak! when informers thrive,
When people flourish and lie creatively
To kill by whisper and blasphemy to live.

Ancestors speak! if Africa changes,
Speak when fear corrupts and suspicion’s spread
By look, gesture and even to our ancestors.
When the liar’s shame out decent silence to defame
The legend honor, respect and defile their names.

Ancestors speak! , when conquered with deep doubt,
When there are honored men by scandals turned about,
When we see honor murdered and people become dump,
Ancestors speak; I will continue to lead with pure heart,
Wisdom, humble, loyal true, pretend and pure spirit.
Through my poetry I shall unveil the truth,
As I lead through the land.
