And The Flowers Never Bloom Poem by Anand Vijaykumar

And The Flowers Never Bloom

Rating: 5.0

In the harsh city air
The plant grows
Explores
With it's stalks
and it's vines
Around pillars and
Inside cracks
It's arms intertwine
And the flower never blooms

As the vine begs for purchase
In non-existent rooms
Petals that will never
See the light of day
Stay firmly huddled
Within its bud
Closeted, fearful
And the flower never blooms

The plants mimic their masters
Within closeted rooms
Fearful, huddled
We stay
Packed tightly away
Within our buds
Petals in decay
For never having seen the sun
And the flowers never bloom...
