Another Day Too Soon Poem by martin elbin

Another Day Too Soon

Rating: 4.5

if you leave in early autumn
and you stay gone through the fall
i'll hate each and every moment
and won't understand at all.
when you leave it will be Winter
even if you leave in May
because the moment that you leave
will darken up the brightest day.

if you leave and snow is falling
and you stay gone through the Spring
i'll see no bright flowers blooming
and won't hear the birds that sing.
when you leave it will be raining
even if you leave in June
because the moment that you leave
will be another day too soon.

so don't leave in any Summer month
or Winter's frosty morn
because from far away you cannot see
my heart be bruised and torn.
i can cry in sunny weather
or beneath a harvest moon
just remember when you leave
would be another day too soon.

just don't leave in Any season
or on any given day
because there's just no time when leaving me
can be the only way.
i would cry and cry Forever
if you end our honeymoon
so when you go...we'll leave together
just another day too soon.

Leaving alone ushers in loneliness no matter the season. A lovely piece from the heart well written. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
