Another Establishment Cover-Up Poem by Kelvin Rush

Another Establishment Cover-Up

Rating: 5.0

You can lie all you like
And pretend you are clean
You can bow like a slave
Support the state greet the queen
You can hide your emotions
Sell your anger and pain
But you'll never see a change
While you're part of the game

You can hear all the nonsense
In the statements read
Left and right autocues
Fake news brain-dead
You can stomach all the anger
Turn evil into light
Weep alone like a baby
In the middle of the night

You can hide all the money
And the crimes you've donated
Justify your oppression
And the slaves you've created
You can turn a blind eye
Then vacate the scene
Leave chaos and destruction
Ruin everyone's dream

You can mix with the royals
And the billionaires
Take your share of the spoils
Try and hide your affairs
Sip your vintage champagne
On a Rothschild's yacht
Plan your next invasion
And your secret plot

You can smile to the camera
Repeat the same lines
Use your phoney accent
And your ridiculous mimes
But in the end we all know
You're a lying crook
You can't hide behind another
Establishment cover-up
