Another Soul Is Lost Forever Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Another Soul Is Lost Forever

Time to place all strengths at hand
Woe to he who understands
For as we speak the old man sings
And reaps the fruits which autumn brings
Time to keep accounts in mind
To seek the peace so hard to find
For as we dance the Jay birds sing
And picks the fruits that hard work brings
The arrow flies in all directions
The stage is set for Armageddon
It’s time to count the final seconds
Another soul is lost forever

************

The seeds of war have been nurtured and cultivated
Strengthened and fertilized by the blood and carcasses
Of millions upon millions of faceless men
“Death”, explained one farmer to another
“Is a very unappreciated commodity
Armies are like pigs we breed and raise
And ultimately lead to slaughter”

...Time to keep accounts in mind
To seek the peace so hard to find
For as we dance the Jay birds sing
And picks the fruits that hard work brings

************

The presents have been opened
Joys and laughter welcomed and shared
A kiss beneath the mistletoe
A glass of eggnog please to go
But careful walking down the street
Less you trip on homeless feet
“Look and observe how mortal men live
Like scavengers, disgusting and filthy
Don’t you fret over laziness my friends
Or sympathize their lowly causes

...Time to place all strengths at hand
Woe to he who understands
For as we stand the old man sings
And reaps the fruits that autumn brings

***********

Windstorms have crippled the city
Yet our rivers are tranquil and still
Listen to the sound of the angry winds
Listen to the cries that follows
Melodic tunes of poverty and pain
Behold the stars above have fallen
Burdened by the mighty weight
Of corruption, greed and the customary loyalty
The wreaths wither away in Queens
The top dog has yet to stumble...

..The arrow flies in all directions
The stage is set for Armageddon
It’s time to count the final seconds
Another soul is lost forever

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Jeannie Ann Clark 16 December 2007

Mustafa: Your writing is expressive and clear; readers can comprehend the words easily. I just started writing poems. I worship the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob. I write about Him in my poems. Maybe you can read them. I think you will enjoy many of them because of your words written in poemhunter. I will read others. Thank you. Jeannie
