Anticipating You Poem by Mark Reed Jr.

Anticipating You

Impatience overcomes anticipation
Of when we again meet
Your personality is so warm and loving...
Do I truly deserve such a treat?

I desire to know more about you
I'm restrained by the faith that holds tomorrow;
Any small thought of you, causes happiness
But a nightmare of losing you, causes sorrow

I'm intrigued by my own words
Maybe cause I'm inspired by you;
Anticipating the words you speak
Is like being embedded in a thoughtful truth

So many things can be said
But maybe I'm just shy?
I wonder if I caught your attention,
For the simple way you caught my eye?

I can't express my anticipation
Nor can I write it in a simple rhyme
So many places I want to take you
Instead I rather just take my time

Let's not rush anything
Nor do everything today
Allow me to feel anticipation
For tomorrow is another day
