Anyone But Her Poem by Shane Abrams

Anyone But Her

Rating: 5.0

He looks at her
As she begins to die
He can't take it
And begins to cry
Cutting, bleeding
And desperately needing
The blood runs thick
And he is dying quick
Rather his life than hers
She is who they'll miss
Not breathing on the ground
To her body he is bound
He too is fading out
'Help' people shout
Ambulance comes
As his body numbs
He sees her there
Breathless and cold
Barley 16 years old
No way to live
Is this all she has to give
Make it stop
All the pain
Is driving him insane
There's no help
It's too late now
Everything seems in doubt
He wants to die
If it shall give her life
She's too good
Give his life he would
If only she knew
How she helped him through
More than she'll know
His body hits the floor
He fades away
As if the end of a day
