Apathetic Prisoner Poem by Cooper Gilliland

Apathetic Prisoner

Rating: 5.0

They say home is where the heart is,
But I'm locked inside a prison of stone
I already know that I am heartless,
So walk away, just leave me alone.

Don't tell me what I want, what I need
When heaven's gates won't open;
Won't show me that my mind is freed,
Because I know my spirit is broken.

So please just walk and run away
Leave me drowning in my misery
As the broken anthem plays
And depressing chords surround me.

Good poem, liked it, but oh, so sad, maybe that`s the beauty of it.
