Laugh so the world can laugh with you
cry and you cry alone
you take out of life what you put in
sorrow walks before you
serenity walks beside you.
Your peace inside
is your voice outside
be real and alive
the rest will survive
mirth and joy float in my heart.
I sleep in sombre times
but awake with a dream
to grace an untrodden
path of glory, from
a cruel world asunder
to a man with love immortal.
