As For Me I'Ve Been Lucky Poem by Francis Duggan

As For Me I'Ve Been Lucky

Rating: 5.0

For so many people life's so very hard
Homelessness, want and oppression has left them mentally scarred
So much so that many of them become mentally ill
They spend their time climbing on steep no hope hill
As for me I've been lucky though I do find life tough
The lady of luck to me seems kind enough
With enough to eat and a roof over my head
Though sad to say for many that cannot even be said
They do not even know what 'tis like happiness
Those with 'no fixed abode' as their postal address
We may well have our own life's crosses to bear
But a moment of thought for them we ought to spare
They spend their lives battling the ghosts of despair
Only for the wealthy minority life does seem fair.
