As Lies Spin By - Poem by Hubert Wilson

It is the evening of my life.
I sit and listen as politicians spin lie after lie.
Deceitful faces are all I see.
Does anyone else see?
Is it just me?
I sit and listen
As lies spin by.

Riches seem to buy each and everyone.
I want them to tell the unvarnished truth.
All I hear is the same.
Of lies spinning round and round.
I sit and listen
As more lies spin by.

It is the late evening of my life.
I sit and listen to politicians spin more lies.
Undoin' truths one by one.
They think no one knows?
As people just sit and listen
As still more lies spin by!
