As my heart beat increases,
And my eyes look and search,
I realise what I am looking for,
And my heart bleeds with hurt,

As my body jumps and reacts,
And my breathing becomes rapid,
I remember the events that occurred,
And I become shy and timid,

As my mind remembers,
And my pain returns,
I wish it was all a dream,
And I think of all the burns,

As my soul falls in flames,
And my chest heaves with pain,
I cherish each single ache,
And realise I’m not the same,

As my hair falls around me,
And covers my tear-full eyes,
I pray for one thing only,
Please, no more lies?
