Ask Jesus Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Ask Jesus

As hate escalates for the Jews
As more alone they stand
Everywhere they’re daily news
Outside The Promised Land

Vowed HaShem to Abraham’s clan
To his son Isaac too
Through Jacob, confirming His plan
For the loathed future Jew

Through the humble, awaited Christ
Ancient Prophets foresaw
Who His Father, God sacrificed
To open salvation’s door

Jesus, God’s Son of virgin birth
Cruelly would be chastised
Who died, so truth would flood the earth
Widely to be despised

Only a few, a minute few
Have found what grace will give
That Jesus Christ, Himself a Jew
Would suffer all to give

But who today will this believe?
Accept God’s Word as true?
Enable, through Christ to receive
What child-like hearts pursue

Now Israel’s trees have turned green
Soon, loud will be the cries
Where Jesus’ cloud will be seen
For His faithful bride to rise

Could be today or tomorrow
When countless are left behind
Don’t suffer and die in sorrow
Ask Christ to change your mind…..
