Sleep with windows open to the night,
And keep the child within awake
To hear the rapping at the window
When the spirits come to call.
Hold tight the duvet when the dog growls,
Because it may be the Pirate's come
Or Peter, with his Tinkerbell,
Flying from the Never Never land,
Where the Lost Boys still wait
For a Mother's love to grip them tight.
Little boys do not grow up,
They only leave behind their youth -
To stumble over in the night
When dreaming speaks the truth.
