Astray For Gain Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Astray For Gain

With ethics, in a state of rot
Decadence floods the land
Politically correct or not
The Word of God will stand

For centuries the church stood tall
She’s prospered well and grown
But now lands crumble governments fall
Reaping of filth pre-sown

For gain we let The Truth pass by
We let The Way grow pale
So more and more in sin we die
Within our self made jail

Turning aside from vows we made
Erring like blinded fools
Our very souls we’ll often trade
For silver gold and jewels

Once God was pleased and blessed our toil
Was pleased to meet man’s need
But now we turn to such and oil
To quench our worldly greed

This is our test our mountain trial
God’s eyes are open wide
Judging with whom He’ll reconcile
As Jesus’ faithful bride

For she alone will join His Son
When truly born again
She’ll rise she’ll shine with victories won
Eternally to reign

Yet fools may scoff still countries fight
Satanic songs loud sing
Rejecting Truth refusing Light
Christ Jesus died to bring
