Average & Ordinary Life 4 U? Poem by Luke Easter

Average & Ordinary Life 4 U?

Rating: 5.0

Ordinary teams do not win championships,
Ordinary command will cause a sinking ship,
Women won’t go shopping for an ordinary dress,
No one ever graduates taking an ordinary test.

As more than a conqueror sleeping or awake,
An over comer is always real and never a fake,
No sleep or slumber in the kingdom of heaven,
A true “Child Of The King” reins on earth 24/7.

I’m writing this poem because of yesterday,
“Ordinary, ” is what this preacher had to say,
What if Rosa Parks had lived by this phrase?
We’d be riding in the back of the bus today.

It is this kind of thinking that summons defeat,
In the locker room you’re already feeling the heat,
Instead of walking proud slowly you begin to creep,
Like riding up a big hill on a bike instead of a Jeep.

Is it any wonder why there’s no mystery to tell?
The reasons so many never succeed and only fail?
Trial hasn’t started but you’ve put yourself in jail,
Now you’re expecting God to cough up the bail?

Does anybody purposefully look for an ordinary spouse?
Will you seek to move into and stay in an average house?
Do you want to have & raise a family of plain ordinary kids?
Can promotion come from the average work that you did?

My brother built a pro-gas racecar with 897-horse power,
Costing thousands of dollars, working hundreds of hours,
Do you think he expects to win with plain ordinary luck?
In that case he might as well sell his car and race the truck.

A friend showed me a disc titled, “Twelve Ordinary Men, ”
But, that was over 2,000 years ago, this is now not then,
You will never survive in today’s world living status quo,
Closest you’ll get to success with that is zilch point zero.

What if Michael and Tiger only had an ordinary game?
Can’t tell the A squad from the B if both looked the same,
Who gets moved in the spirit from an ordinary preacher?
Ever hear of anybody giving credit to an ordinary teacher?

What makes Barack Obama a sirloin cut above the rest?
Is he the Democratic Nominee not believing he’s the best?
That he won’t get some votes due to his race is truly scary,
But, who would vote for him if he was just plain ordinary?

One good thing about ordinary is the evil one will never attack,
The devil has already won if he doesn’t have to hold you back,
The Sun that gives earth light and warmth is no ordinary star,
Everyone could afford a Rolls Royce if it was an ordinary car.

John 10: 10, Jesus did not come for us to have an ordinary life,
Isaiah 53: 5, we are certainly not healed by His ordinary stripes,
George Foreman didn’t win at forty-five with an ordinary right,
Ted Williams was not the greatest hitter due to ordinary sight.

Our Father in heaven did not bless us with ordinary love,
Jesus did not die on the cross and shed ordinary blood,
Christmas and Easter are not just any ordinary holidays,
And neither are they observed by plain ordinary ways.

What’s it called when you keep doing just enough to get by?
Quitting after a few failures instead of giving one more try,
Ever wonder why people only get an ordinary recompense?
They refuse to go beyond ordinary, reaching for excellence.

Matt.18: 18, “it’s not bound in heaven till it’s bound on earth, ”
You can’t declare anything bound by claiming ordinary worth,
7 world records,8 gold medals, ordinary training Michael Phelps?
Between a rock and a hard place do you pray for ordinary help?

We do not turn from our wicked ways seeking an ordinary face,
Neither does anyone earnestly strive to receive ordinary grace,
Long as you face a storm running your life at an ordinary pace,
Remember, that no one gets ahead running in an ordinary race.

Would you pay to see a baseball game if the pitcher is Average Joe?
How about football game if the backfield was Larry, Curly and Moe?
Maybe bet the farm on a horse who never had a win, place or show?
If your date invites you to mom’s for a bologna sandwich do you go?

You think academic & athletic titles are won by ordinary women or men?
Excellence isn’t born it’s developed by those who dare to be a Champion,
It takes not days, weeks nor months but years and although it might tarry,
The, “cream of the crop” will never rise to the top by just being ordinary.

A battlefield force of thousands has only a handful of Commanders,
I know hundreds of racquetball players but only one Bobby Sanders,
Far above ordinary, roots planted with runs at 3: 30 A.M., in the rain,
A muiti-title national championship serve the pro’s could not explain.

And yet although it looks like your efforts haven't gotten you very far,
Obviously not always the pinnacle on earth but God knows who you are,
Be careful who you tell your dreams to as jealously will shoot them down,
It's imperative to seek the corresponding crowd to pursue & hang around.

Romans 8: 16, never forget that you are a joint heir with Jesus Christ,
This means you’re a resident of the kingdom and you have the right,
Not just all work & no play but also time to eat, drink and be merry,
Under no circumstances do you deem yourself Average & Ordinary.
