Bây giờ đầu tháng mười
Nhiều cây lá còn tươi
Hàng thông đang rụng lá
Lá dệt thảm nâu khô.

Bây giờ đầu tháng mười
Trời vần vũ mây trôi
Sau cơn mưa vội vã
Vòm trời lại xanh lơ.

Bây giờ đầu tháng mười
Đêm lạnh khoảng bốn mươi
Ngày ấm sáu bẩy chục
Lòng chợt ngại mùa Đông.

NOW, IT'S EARLY IN OCTOBER

Now, it's early in October
Many trees still have their green canopies
Pine trees are shedding their brown needles
Which weave a dry brown carpet on the ground.

Now, it's early in October
Heavy clouds travel fast with strong winds
A heavy shower suddenly came and passed
Then the sky became blue again.

Now, it's early in October
Night temperature dropped to forties
Day temperature averaged sixties seventies
A sudden apprehension of Winter came to me.
