Baby Girl, You Are Life - Poem by Tim Caffery

If human is to be possessed & soulessly owned
If it belongs to a man or his kind
If its merely wealth or a throne
If its just a facade hel in the mind
Baby Girl, You Are Life

If his story is one extended war
If we all have to die in it
If all he ever wants is more
If is impossible to try in it
Baby Girl, You Are Life

If he rapes, fights, & steals
If he just can't seem to stop
If he obsesses over legal deal
If he is a criminal & a cop
Baby Girl, You Are Life

If he hates as much as himself
If his strikes out blindly in rage
If he slaughters those who try to help
If he put any child in a cage
Baby Girl, You Are Life

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Met a guy in the bus who let me skim through a book on Jim Morrison's lost writings, mostly poems from what I saw. So, as that guy was all Jim Morrison I could ever meet, and he even passed his stop by 2-3 just to give me time, I hope this justly honors the gratitude he deserves.
