We were so close, you and I.
Sitting side by side, our fingers intertwined.
There was nothing better
Than walking on the crystal beach
That reflected you perfect blue eyes.

You were so close
Yet somehow so far away.
My heart was always with you,
As you escaped my life.
Please don't tell me this is goodbye.

Now, I look into those merciless blue eys
The ones that chased away the darkness.
Like the sea after a storm.
Now they stare at me as if Im nothing.
And I already know what your going to say.

You were always there by my side,
Yet something changed so fast
That it was a shock that time passed.
Just a memory now.
Can't believe this is goodbye.

I close my eyes and whisper
'Baby, we tried.'
