Back Poem by Janis Land Raymer

Back

Do you remember the magic
of childhood?
We really had it good...
no work,
taxes,
or bills.
But we never understood.
We wanted to grow up so badly-
now?
We want to go back.
Back to when Santa was real...
Remember struggling to go to sleep Christmas Eve?
Back to Halloween...
the costumes...
the candy.
Back to Easter eggs
and fourth of July picnics
Back to the tooth fairy
Back when life was
easy,
magic,
carefree,
Sometimes you just wanna go-
back.
