Barking At Strangers Poem by Kelly Carmicael

Barking At Strangers

Barking at strangers
Trying to explain my pain.
It's not easy,
Being left out in the cold.
When I wished I had you to hold.

I'll be barking at strangers
Ones you wish you never knew.
They could never understand
And I wish you could hold my hand
Just one last time.

Barking at strangers,
Cause I know it helps cover the hurt
The hurt that came
When you left me
That cold winter day.

I'll keep barking at strangers
Till you come home
And promise to never
leave me alone
Again.

I will bark at strangers,
Only for you
Only because you would
If you were here.
Only because you no longer can.
