Be Happy If You Can Poem by Francis Duggan

Be Happy If You Can

Be happy if you can and try to enjoy every day
For the clock on our lives ever does tick away
The Seasons pass quickly we grow old too soon
And for all of us there is a last rising moon
If you feel despondent and in spirits low
You are not the person everyone wishes to know
The happy one seems to make friends easily
With laugh and the World laughs with you i have to agree
Few do wish to know the sad sack of the town
Alone on the street he or she walk up and down
You need not have to wonder why this should be
Since a smiling face far more appealing to all it would seem to me
Be happy with your lot is all i can say
Life seems too short for sadness and time ticks away.
