Be Shrewd Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Be Shrewd

This life’s not always what it seems
This world will not remain
Fools will dream their futile dreams
And live their lives in vain

The shrewd today would heed God’s call
Would open Christ their door
Salvation’s rain inside would fall
And light would dawn for sure

The devil’s reign would cease to be
Darkness would quit the land
Wisdom would raise its head and see
And truly understand

God’ is true and Heaven is real
The devil reigns in most
God’s unseen realm we start to feel
Through Jesus Holy Ghost

The truth’s not always plain at first
The Light’s not always clear
But those who hunger those who thirst
God shows them that He’s near

So near, we feel Him in our heart
We hear His voice quite plain
The Light inside will never part
Where darkness cannot reign

But who’ll accept God’s unseen hand?
Who’ll take a chance on love?
Who’ll seek to find The Promised Land?
Who’ll seek The Truth above?

Its not the weak its not the strong
Its those with faith in Christ
Its those who sing the righteous song
For which God sacrificed
