Because You'Ve Forgotten Poem by Samantha Myers

Because You'Ve Forgotten

Because I loved you,
I let my summer go to waste
Because I loved you,
My heart was ripped to shreds
Because I loved you,
I now feel like nothing
All Because
I loved you.

My heart was thrown on the ground
Spit on and rolled in the dirt,
Scratched up
Infected by the words you said,
The promises you made
Sent me to my grave
Because I loved you.
I gave you everything,
Because I loved you.
I stayed up late every night to hear your voice,
Because I loved you.
I cried seas of tears,
Because I loved you.
Always and Forever No matter what,
All because I loved you.

Did Eternity lose It’s time?
Did my words lose their power?
Does my heart mean nothing to you?
Did you lose your memory?
Did Love lose its meaning?

Deep in my soul I know I need to walk away
But for some reason it is right here that I stay
My head doesn’t want to let go to help my soul.

Did you lose your love for me?
Did you know when I said “I love you” I meant it?
Does the way we kissed goodbye mean nothing?
Did you ever think of me at all?
Did I fall in love with a lie?

You left me with a kiss and a dream
A dream that is fading.
You lost me in your one word sentences
You lost me in your snapped answers
I’m lost in your reasons
I’m lost in your nonexistent hellos
You’ll lose me if I say goodbye.
You’ll lose me as I see that:
Others see the charm of my smile,
The blue in my eyes,
The feistiness of my answers
The strength in my convictions.
You’re losing as you show
You’ve forgotten what others find
