Before You Give Your Heart Away Poem by Ray Hansell

Before You Give Your Heart Away

Rating: 5.0

I saw a young girl crying
Tears streaming down her cheeks
She said, my heart's been broken
I said, that's nothing unique

For as long as there has been life
People have had their heart's broken
I know to you it might sound foolish
But not always is the truth spoken

Some people will say what you want to hear
Even though they know it's a lie
Sadly to say, some people will play
With your emotions and make you cry

Some of them taking advantage
Of a heart that's warm and kind
I'm sad to say in all walks of life
People like this you will find

What you should know is they'll come a time
When you'll find a love that's strong and true
You'll look back at this time
Knowing he wasn't the right one for you

Remember, love does not happen
In an hour or even a day
You have to be sure, love is secure
Before you give your heart away
