Behind Hell Wails Poem by Adeosun Olamide

Behind Hell Wails

Mother says Dan "be like Jesus"
Dan took glasses
And found seas
A step on waters
And self ‘neath dark- oceans
Two nights aft- afloat came
Mother took stick
And sauntered chapel
-that funeral beloved oft do
And in revel acquaint priest
Dan death in Christ
Who course faiths urge
When death beck

Of mortal sin does- priest relay
And Dan no dwelling in Gods abode

With pang guilt etched in mien
Mother scripture took
And found seas
A step on waters
And self in dark- oceans
Acquaint hell
Still seeks Dam thro well souls
And eternally vain stumbles
