Behind The Fence Poem by Lekan Malik

Behind The Fence

It’s been long
That he has been trying
To jump over
The tall and rocky fence.
Because he was told
By Venus, the goddess of love,
That a Beauty
Is waiting patiently
Behind the fence.
A voice came, tenderly
Telling him to jump quickly.
He became confused.
That was too much for him.
He was massively incapacitated
To jump over the fence.
The voice came again
Asking if he would or not.
He paced up and down,
Racking his sleepless brain
To unveil what to do.
And he remembered the key!
The divine key,
That no one has the duplicate.
That’s his poetry.
He told the Beauty
Who was waiting
Behind the fence
That if only she could allow him,
He has the key to her heart
And jumping the great fence
Was indeed, a task.
It was dangerous to his health.
Now, he his still waiting
For the Beauty to respond
To his submission…
