Behind Your Closet Door Poem by Lycia Harding

Behind Your Closet Door

Behind your closet door,
a monster, you decide,
has moved the toys aside
to snooze upon the floor.
So near you'll hear him snore
you fear, from there inside.

So I, this very night,
when certain you have been
kissed on your cherry chin
and loved with all my might,
in just the gentle light
the moon and stars let in,

will hold you safe and tight
until your dreams begin...
