Belly Poem by Anthony Liccione

Belly

Blood in my
belly
is like raisin
in bread,
water in a basin
that birds come
by to bathe in
ruffle dirty feathers
with worms
in their belly
regurgitate warmly,
the chuck-up
of cut up meat
into the nest
bellies of babies.
