Better Poem by Catherine Yen

Better

Better

Better than me
Are you
More sentimental than me
Are you
More passionate, cleverer, faster thinking
You
More proud than me
Wilder than me
Lonelier than me
By my subtle and tiny tenderness
To cherish you
Better and better

That day, on the dining table
You said slightly
“Thank you to accompany me for dinner”
Red the eyes
The adversity in life journey
The predicament of days’ back and forward
Frozen in one grasp
On the way home in the starry nights
Silent the lamp warmed at the wall corner

Better than you
Is me
Kinder than you
Is me
More assured, stronger, keener
Is me
More pious than you
Prettier than you
Humbler than you
By your silver huge shoulders
To cherish me
Better and better

That time, I was heart broken as usual
The blurred memories by eraser
Forgot the vast heaven and earth
Neglected the wild wind and turbulent waves
The secret longing
A spiritual hill
The refined and serene poems
Comfortably installed
On the eyelash of mist
