Beware Of False Prophets Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Beware Of False Prophets

Rating: 0.5

Too oft we think our church is right
The other branches wrong
It’s we! who spread the gospel light
Who sing the one true song

Alas, it’s not so rare this view
The Lord knows all too well
Even amongst the chosen few
Not few may end in hell

Some dare to venture even more!
Coming before the bride
Saying; ... “God sent me to your door –2Pe.2: 1
This word He’s sent to guide” –1Ti.4: 1

God’s flock hang on to every word
To all they have to say -1Jn.4: 1
But sadly then from what they’ve heard
Some lambs will fall or stray

True prophets! bring a word that’s real
Nought false or underhand
With pungent truth, true hearts can feel
And souls can understand

We know when Jesus' prophets come
God’s word’s alive and well
The Lord won’t leave His children dumb
To fail and end in hell

Yet which is false and which is true –Dt.18: 21-22
Which word is God’s on high –Ac.10: 43
Just what has Jesus’ sheep to do? –Mt.7: 15
When even prophets lie! –Dt.13: 1-

Determine what a prophet’s brought
Let wisdom rule the bride –2Pe.1: 19-21
Believe Salvation’s true report –Isa.53: 1
And cast the trash aside
